Day 13: Vilnius

Breakfast in the appartment again. We also put some stuff in the washing machine and waited until it was finished in order to hang it up (the advantage of staying in an apartment).

Our first stop was the three crosses monument, which is a religious moment that has been there since the 14th century and been destroyed and rebuilt a number of times since.

It is on a hill next to the river in a forested area and gives great views of the city. The walk up is mildly challenging (if you are unfit).

After this we took a Bolt to Uno Park to do some tree climbing and ziplining. Rakos recommend this. He said his children loved it and that it was not hugely difficult, which I mistook to mean he had done it himself. It turns out only his kids had done it.

The routes through the trees range in difficulty from orange to black like a ski slope. We got as far as the blue root, but even this is 60ft in the air. It took the bones of 2hrs to complete. Alex had a shaky start but after that was flying along without issue and thoroughly enjoying it.

Ian also thoroughly enjoyed it, but more so in hindsight as during it was exhausting, muscle straining and terrifying.

After all this exercise we went for an early dinner. We decided to go to Grey again as we were so impressed last time. This time neither of us had had lunch (Ian had had no breakfast either) and so we were sure we could take on the shared starter and main course. We were wrong again. This time we both had steak.

After dinner we met this dude on the street who had some doves and allowed Alex to hold them.

Overall Alex and Ian thoroughly enjoyed Vilnius.
