Day 3: Stockholm to Helsinki

Updated: Jul 30, 2023

The first half of the day was spent wandering up and down some shopping streets including one of Stockholm's longest, Drottingatan. Here is the view from the end of it.

Before heading for the Ferry at 16:00, we stopped into a Persian restaurant (Malakeh Restaurang) for lunch. It was quite tasty, however in spite of asking for something gluten-free, the whole thing came out ontop of some bread, which was somewhat annoying for Alex.

We walked rapidly back to the hotel to collect our bags and then walked to the ferry terminal. Taking an Uber would have been a far better idea. The queues to get on the ferry were not too bad, though we were carrying heavy bags the whole time, very tough on the backs!.

The cabin on the boat was very comfortable and actually bigger than the hotel room in Stockholm.

We thoroughly explored the boat. It is well provisioned with restaurants, bars, shops, ect. The shop actually had a good craft beer selection. The wind played havoc with Dad's beard.

We had dinner in the Italian restaurant onboard. Alex had gluten-free spagbol, which he loved. Ian had Pizza, which was also good, but he couldn't finish due to exhaustion.

The musician in the bar was average, but Alex enjoyed him nonetheless. We arrive in Helsinki at 09:15 tomorrow morning.

Thank you
